Back to where the sun rises in your face.

OK, its been a while since I have made an entry into my digital diary, so I will have to make up with this one. The last time I touched base, my stay in WA had come to an end and I was on my ay to the Metropolis of Sydney. I spent a couple of nights along the Norther Beaches shooting Rosy and her Dad (Steve) at North Narrabeen, which produced some of the best waves in those few days, that I have ever seen come thru in that corner. A couple of days ago, we (Rosy, her Family and I) decided to make the trek down to Victoria, Bells Beach in the Holden Commodore ‘Executive’. The roughly 1200 km journey was spread over 2 days with a night spent in wooden cabins buried in a National Parks’ forest teeming with local wildlife. Having arrived in Torquay, locally called the ‘Surf Coast’ of Victoria, we were greeted with below average waves for a week straight. We made the journey to Bells Beach to support Rosy during her campaign at the ‘Rip Curl, Bells Beach Pro’, the Longest running Pro Surfing event in the World, with its first appearance in 1961. Having competed in poor conditions Rosy held her composure and performed well to finish in 9th place, narrowly loosing to Chelsea Hedges, former World Champ. With the contest over, we may soon be heading back into direction Sydney, in preparation for the next leg of our journey, which takes us into the heart of New Zealand’s North Island. I look forward to set foot into a new country and throwing some eye at the Lord of the Rings amazing scenery and landscapes.

I am sure there will be plenty more images share and tales to tell as the weeks go by.

East to West

In 2 days we drove 800 km from the Gold Coast to Sydney, flew another 4000 km from Sydney to Perth and then another 390 km to Margaret River where I have been for the past 6 days. The waves have been nothing special, but none the less fun. I got to swim at the Box one morning and on another occasion, met up with friends and fellow Boogers/Photog Adam Luehman and Alex Turoy and crew for a below average session at the Box.  Gas BAy has provided some fun bowls and barrels, but has been crowded due to the Surfing event that is underway in Margs. Rosy smoked her first heat in the ‘Drug Aware Pro’ a 6* WQS event at the Margaret River main break and will be continuing her campaign in the event later today. You can watch and support her through the website :DRUG AWARE PRO.

So it look like we are going to be on our way back to the East Coast on monday, with a few days rest in Sydney and then a day or two’s drive to Bell’s Beach in Victoria. I am pretty sure I will have some more stories and images to share before then…

As I mentioned before, the waves have not offered much, yet there have been a hand full of glorious moments. Enjoy.

A new post for a new beginning.

Ok, So here we go. I haven’t blogged much about anything since my site went live, but have made a decision to scribble about my life as much as it is worth mentioning. I have been on the road since the beginning of November 2009, so I have plenty to catch up on. Three and a bit months in Hawaii and plenty more time to come here in OZ. The images below are from a little swim I had today at the superbank and on my way home. I’ll be posting some more tomorrow.
